A.D. 640 Woodland Period Village
The Woodland peoples lived by forests and rivers. Their houses were made of wooden poles and tree bark. During the day, the people hunted, worked in small gardens, and made clay pottery. The Woodland people ate deer, nuts, and fruit. They also ate squash, corn, and beans from their gardens. These people traded with other tribes for rock, beads, and food.
