FDN 5420: Hypermedia in EducationSession 1 - Course Intro / Getting Started Course Introduction Let's begin by examining the goals for this course and by meeting each other. Then, register for the course discussion group, so you can share your position statements and other thoughts there. There is a tutorial on this page. Hypermedia and the Learning Environment What does the word "hypermedia" mean? What does it mean to education? Let's discuss our conceptions of Hypermedia as a whole group. Then, break into small groups of 3-4 and research "hypermedia" and its role in learning. Start with the topics list as a jumping-off point, if you'd like - or, begin your own search. Be prepared to share with the group your group's thoughts - as well as any interesting websites or other resources you come across. Be sure to check out the "articles" section. We will want to start thinking about our position statement within the next couple of weeks Post your personal statement about hypermedia and the learning environment on the course discussion board. A Hypermedia Learning Environment Today, we are going to log onto and explore the Casenex learning environment. We are looking for elements of the environment and how they impact/affect the learning process. We are also going to analyze some cases. To begin, go to the Casenex website (http://www.casenex.com), click on "Register" then "Register" again and enter the following PIN: 20020418074928 You will fill out a registration form and choose a username/password. Once you are logged on, begin by going to "Help" and "Analyze Cases." Read this first.
