A Look at North Carolina Counties     

    This activity is designed to give students experience in looking at the different North Carolina counties.

Students can obtain information about all 100 counties at the following address:

    At this site students can explore information about the counties. They should then record the following information for at least 5 counties.

        County History

        County Profiles

        Elevation

        Persons per square mile, in 1995

        Income (per capita)

        Registered Voters

        Public School Enrollment

        County Seat

       Tourist Attractions

    Using this information students may then create a simple database displaying their results.
