Description: This course will explore the role of computers in educational settings. The exploration will include the current issues in educational computing found in community colleges, business/industrial training units and other educational settings, including k12 schools.. Topics will include computers as "mindtools", distance educational delivery systems, hypermedia, telecommunications, and technology planning. The course will be conducted on line in a virtual world. Recent research on the use and trends of computers in learning environments will also be investigated.  Emphasis is placed on using the knowledge base to develop practical applications for participants' specific working environments. Students should already have an operational understanding of basic computer application software. (If not, please inform the instructor).
