The teacher will describe to students how each person is unique in his/her own way.  It is important that each person be accepting to others.  Joey Pigza is about a little boy with ADHD and is hyperactive.  The teacher will explain that ADHD is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Some of the characteristics of ADHD are:  Inattention (hard time keeping mind on one thing), Hyperactivity (always in motion; cannot sit still), and Impulsivity (does not think before acts).

      ADHD is common in children.  Some children may put themselves down or think they are not as good as "normal" children.  It is important for these children to know they may have a behavioral problem, but they are "normal" children.  These children have something unique that not everyone has.  It is also important for you to understand ADHD, the characteristics, medications, and how to show empathy for a person with ADHD.
