Character Traits

(1.)   Jokingly    p. 78    par. 3

        Mr. Quimby laughs when Ramona makes fun of his drawing. He    

        jokingly  throws a pillow her way.

(2.)  Stern    p. 79    par. 2

        The author said, "Even though her father did not speak the words, his    

        voice said, "We do not sniff our food in this house." This implies that he

        spoke in a stern voice.  

(3.)  Disciplinarian    p. 85    par.

        Mr. Quimby punishes the girls because they were complaining about

        dinner. He gives them the consequence of cooking dinner for the family

        as a punishment.

Mr. Quimby's goal is to punish the girls for acting rude at the dinner table. He is also going back to college to get his teaching degree.

His problem is that the family lacks in finances when he doesn't work.
