1 italics: pg. 50, par. 1
Why is my italicized?
"My mother doesn't,"
It places emphasis on the word.
1 prediction: pg. 52, paragraph 1
Do you think that Aunt Sissy is going to Ralph's mom that he was riding a motorcycle down the hallway?
"Toward midnight he passed his Aunt Sissy scurrying along the baseboard. He waved and nearly lost control of the motorcycle. Aunt Sissy stopped to stare while Ralph road on, feeling pleased with himself and at the same time sorry for Aunt Sissy, poor frightened thing with only her feet to carry her from one crumb to the next."
No, Aunt Sissy will not tell Ralph's mom because she was already so frightened by Ralph. I don't think she likes to wander the hotel alone and therefore will not make the trip to Ralph's mouse hole.
1 cause/effect: pg. 57, par. 1
Why was Ralph so curious suddenly? Why does he feel the immediate need to see the rest of the hotel?
Ralph is suddenly so curious because he has gotten a taste of what is out there. He had seen the stairs, smelled the food below, driven past the elevator, been frightened by the deer head, and explored the upstairs hallways. Now he was curious to see what else was out there.
