What is the cause for Caleb wanting to find out about the person who murdered him?

Caleb was killed suddenly and at a moment in which he was unable to see the person that shot him.  Also, Caleb is trying to find the person who killed him because he feels that it shouldn't have happened.  Therefore, if he were to find the person who killed him, he might be able to live a more peaceful afterlife.

What mood is the author trying to portray in this section?

The author is trying to portray a mysterious mood in this section.  This is shown by way of the author giving the reader insufficient information about Caleb's death so that the reader will be encouraged to read on to find out how Caleb "mysteriously" died.

What do you think Kenny will do with the information he has just learned about Caleb's death?

I think that Kenny will try to piece together all of the information in order to determine who is to blame for Caleb's death.  Also, I think that he will keep traveling to Caleb's time period in order to find out more and more information about each of the suspects.

Compare and Contrast the time period in which Kenny lives and the time period that Caleb lived.

Kenny's time period is a time in which slavery is not an issue, there are ways in which to look up important information about the past, and there is no hostility toward blacks.
Caleb's time period is a time in which slavery and slave trade were large money making ways, and there was much hostility toward blacks.
