Kangaroos can be as small as a rat or as big as a man. They are found in Tasmania, Australia, and New Guinea. Australian kangaroos can move up to 88 km/h. Kangaroos defend themselves by going in the water and trying to drown their attacker, or to back up against a tree and kick at their attacker.

Kangaroos can live up to 6 years in the wild and up to 20 in captivity. Most kangaroos are nocturnal. Kangaroos are in danger of extinction and are considered pests because they damage crops. Kangaroos are herbivores (eat plants) and swallow their food without chewing and they can go for months without water.
