Connector

Section 1 p. 1-33

Your job is to connect the book your group is reading to the outside world.  This means asking yourself these questions and writing in a paragraph about one or both:

Does Donald remind you of anyone you know, maybe yourself, a sibling, etc?  Explain in detail your answer.

Is Donald annoying to you or do you like his character so far?  Why?

In your paragraph, be sure to include who or what your connection is about, where and when it happened, what happened and how it connects or deals with the part of the story you were reading.

I love Donald!  I think he is a great character because he cares so much. He cares about school, his mom and dad, and does not even let bullies bother him.  He is not annoying to me at all.  He is not perfect which I like a lot.  He gets into trouble but always tries to make it better.  He sounds like my sister when she was a lot younger.  She was so creative and loved school.  She wouldn’t get up to go to school on a Saturday, like Donald, but she cared as much as he did.  I think they are a lot of children like Donald in the world today.  All we hear are the negative things about children and school, but we have to remember there is still good out there and Donald is one of the good.
