  6. Does this part of the story remind you of any other story you have read or heard?  Explain.

In the story there were not only mean people but also mean animals.  I felt bad that Josh and his dog were both getting bullied.  I know that I have heard of people training their dogs to be mean and hurt other animals and other people.  When I read about River Gang I thought about those mean dogs that are captured on the news for hurting others.  I would recommend this book for anyone to read.  It was a good book that had a lot of meanings and it was good for learning how to treat others.  In ways I think I’m like Josh because he didn’t like being in a new place where he didn’t know anyone and was getting bullied but yet he didn’t give up and tried to keep his head high.  I can’t think of another story at the time that I have read but I have heard stories of people getting bullied at school and it is really hard for them because they are scared to go to school and don’t like being there.
