Pete’s a Pizza

Launch activity: Students will read the book Pete’s a Pizza in order to introduce them to the idea that William Steig uses a theme in many of his books of things becoming other things. After reading the book, students will be asked to draw an object or animal that they would want to become for one day. They will discuss how and why they would want to be the object or animal.
