This is a Natalie Babbitt Literature Circle Unit for 5th graders.  It is broken down into nine sections with five jobs per section.  This is a fantasy unit that contains some real life happenings.  I believe this would be a great unit to integrate language arts with science and focus on weather.

Theme is very important to Natalie Babbitt.  Her books mainly focus on philosophical issues.  Most of Natalie Babbitt’s books are fantasy, but they all focus on life lessons that are learned at the end of each story.
