Modifications for Special Needs Students
AG STUDENTS
- Keep them at a higher pace
- Encourage them to use as much
creativity as possible
- Have them assist members in their
groups that may be struggling
- Place these students in the above
grade level book
- Encourage students to find deeper
meanings in the the reading that they can share with their group
LEARNING DISABLED IN READING STUDENTS
- Have students pair up on jobs to cut
down on stress
- Place these students in the below
grade level book
- Provide more assistance to these
students
- Give them job where they will be
engaged more (if students enjoys drawing let them draw)
ADHD STUDENTS
- Have a student work with this student
to remind them to stay on task
- Shorten sections if they are too long
for student and student loses focus
- Encourage student to become involved
in discussions so they are actively involved and not tempted to be doing other
things
- Allow student to do something they
like with each job. If they like drawing allow a drawing to accompany passages
and so forth.
