at the thought of her mother coming to her school. That would just make things harder for her if
the other children saw her mom and heard her talk. That would surely make the teasing and
harassment worse than it already was.
After all she just wanted to fit in and make friends; somehow.

Molly was fuming
at Elizabeth and her follower Hilda for always bugging her and because they
would not leave her alone about her Pilgrim doll. She knew they would make fun of it she was
not even sure if it was the right idea of a Pilgrim or not. She knew her doll was definitely did not look
likes the ones
she had studied yesterday in class. Elizabeth and Hilda kept on aggravating her until she finally
showed them and Molly got exactly what she thought she would. Earsplitting laughter came from the girls.
Molly felt her face getting hotter and the steam starting to simmer inside her
when she was saved by the school bell.

Molly’s goal is to be accepted by the others at her
school in Winter Hill. She wanted
friends that she could play with and talk to.

Molly’s problem is that she is different than

The ending of this book was a good beginning for a friendship. It started
because Miss Stickley, the teacher, knew how the
first pilgrims got the idea for the first Thanksgiving. Then she proceeded to place Molly’s doll on her
