Launch Exercise

    To launch this unit you will need the following materials:

•         shoe box

•         bright colors of construction paper to cover box

•         artifacts to represent immigrants from different cultures such as:

                        China - menu from Chinese restaurant

                        European Countries - brochures from different countries

                        Mexico - pictures of matadors

    Teacher will share with students an example of a culture box of their own.  Students will then start collecting items to go in their own box to represent the country of their choice.  After one week the students will share their box with the class.
