The Tale of the Two Butterflies
Once there were two little butterflies fluttering in a meadow. Their names were BB and Jane. BB was a beautiful butterfly, hence the name BB; Jane was an ugly plain color of brown, hence the name “Plain Jane.” BB looked at Jane and said to her, “I don’t know why anyone would want to play with you. You are so plain and dull. No one would even want to look at you."
Jane replied to BB, “I am fine just like I am. I may be plain, but it will help me one day; you’ll see.”
BB inquired of Jane, “How can being plain and ugly help someone out? You are CRAZY.”
BB was beautifully bright with many colors. She would stand out anywhere. All of a sudden, BB and Jane looked up and saw a huge crow coming right at them. Jane swooped down and landed on a muddy spot on the ground. BB tried to blend in with the grass, but she was just too bright. The big crow dove down and caught BB in his mouth. Poor BB, she may have been a beautiful butterfly, but her bright colors were just too beautiful to hide her. Jane safely hid in the mud because she was the dull plain color of brown.
