    “We will be going to a website all about Jazz and doing some fun activities.  Today we will just be doing the activities and will not need to record any information, but with our next unit when you will be doing this by yourself, you will be required to share what you have found with the group”

                                                                                                Sharing our Work

      On this last day, after we "surf the web" we will share our final product with the rest of the class.  The product will be a book that I put together of all the work we have done throughout the unit.  Each student will get a copy of the book and I will keep the master copy and laminate it.  The book will include: "Music to my Ears" (launch activity), character sketches, word wizard cards and our completed poems. 

                                                                                                 Assessment

       Formative Evaluation:  Make sure throughout the lessons that you walk around and observe different students.  Pick four or five different students to observe each day.  Record: input in group discussion, enthusiasm, on task behaviors, etc.  Also, throughout the unit you should be collecting the work that they do in each section.

Summative:  Complete the L of the KWL chart, as well as evaluate each groups' overall product.
