Modifications
For lower level readers or for non-readers I would record the book for them on tape. I would read the book orally as I record it, so that the student (s) will have a copy of the text on tape. While other students are reading, lower level or non readers can listen to the tape on headphones.
For students who are more advanced readers or those who constantly finish their jobs before others, I would give them some of the other books listed under my resource section. Have the students) read one or more of these books when they finish their literature circle goals. Meet with this student individually before they begin reading the book and allow the students to come up with a product that they wish to complete while reading these extra materials.
