Modifications for The Last Safe House
The literature unit using the book The Last Safe House was designed as a modification for fifth grade students who are reading below fifth grade reading level. This unit can be modified further by making the following changes:
Have someone read the book aloud to the students
Make changes to the "jobs" for each section based on the students' needs
