Closure Activity
v The students will write a narrative story.
v The students will assume that they are a slave.
v The teacher will conduct a mini-lesson on the literary element of point-of-view.
v The students will then be instructed to write their narrative from the point-of-view of a runaway slave. They have experienced the Underground Railroad, and despite several close encounters with bounty hunters, they have finally completed their journey to Canada.
v Students will share their narratives in class.
v The students will post their narratives on the class web site.
