Danish Resistance- WWII

This story is about friendship, trust, love, and courage.  It is about a young Danish girl named Annemarie, her family, and her best friend, Ellen.  Ellen is Jewish and Annemarie is Lutheran.  When the German soldiers come to occupy Denmark, life as the Danish people knew it is no more.  Food and clothing are scarce, but the number of German soldiers in Copenhagen continues to grow.  Soon, the Jewish people know that it is no longer safe for them to stay in Copenhagen, so with the help of friends, they flee to freedom in Sweden.  This book is about Annemarie’s dangerous struggle to help protect her friend from the Nazis who want nothing more than to “relocate” the Jews.
