I AM INVITING YOU ON THE EXCITING

 JOURNEY OF JOURNALING.

A journal is a place where you can share your thoughts and feelings. You can write truly what you think or feel and not what someone else wants you to write. You can brainstorm ideas and draw pictures if you like. Don’t worry about being wrong or not writing correctly. Sit back, relax, and just write.

WONDERING WHAT TO WRITE ABOUT

There are many things to write about in your journal. You can create lists, describe what you see around you, or your dreams. You can write about family, friends, and your hobbies. Write about trips you have taken or special events in your life. You can write about anything you choose, but just in case you need some help here are some ideas to get you started:

¥        questions you have

¥        people or animal watching

¥        things you like

¥        your day at school

¥        weekend plans

¥        make a list of things to do on a rainy day or hot day

¥            I wonder about...

¥            places I’d like to visit

¥            things I know about

¥            someone important to me

¥            my best friend

¥            trips you’ve taken

Excerpt from Flips Fantastic Journal By Angelo DeCesare:

"Now comes the best part. I have a friend. His name is Muzz. Muzz is a great soccer player. Muzz is cool. Muzz is brave. Muzz is strong.”

For your first journal entry, I invite you to write about your best friend or any person that is important to you. Write a few sentences about what this person is like.
