I POEM
I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.
I wonder if I will be eaten.
I hear the sound of the rain.
I see dinner in the flowers.
I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.
I pretend I am dancing with the wind.
I touch the beautiful, sweet flower.
I worry there won't be enough milkweed to lay my egg.
I cry because I don't know my parents.
I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.
I understand that I will be dead after I lay my egg.
I say to myself, "Be strong."
I dream of being powerful.
I try to see my child.
I hope I will be strong.
I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.
