MONARCH I POEM

I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.

I wonder if I will be eaten.

I hear the sound of the rain.

I see dinner in the flowers.

I want to fly to Mexico for the winter.

I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.

I pretend I am dancing with the wind.

I touch the beautiful sweet flower.

I worry there won't be enough milkweed to lay my eggs.

I cry because I don't know my parents.

I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.

I understand flying.

I say I will be a good flyer.

I dream about finding food.

I tried to fly when I was small.

I hope I lay eggs.

I am a butterfly who lays its eggs on milkweed.
