This
section of the story reminds me of the movie The Sandlot. In that movie, you see the
perspective of a young boy who moves to a new town with his family. He doesn’t have any friends and seems to be somewhat
different from the kids around him. He
decides to make new friends on his own and joins in with a local group of boys
who play baseball. He was at first
rejected by the boys but one befriends him and teaches him how to play. He is scared at first but soon becomes one of
the gang and grows up to be a sports broadcaster at baseball games. This reminds me of Meg because she has moved
to a new place where she has no friends.
She feels awkward at first but takes it upon herself to make new
friends. She teaches Will about
photography later in the story and I think she will grow up to become a
photographer as well.
