Within this section Uncle Nate is going to prove that he still can see his redbird he keeps saying that he has proof.  Everyone is dying to know what the proof might be that he possess.  Every since his redbird died Uncle Nate hasn’t been the same.  It is like Uncle Nate has memory loss sometimes and then sometimes he is sharp as a tack.  Finally he shows everyone his proof that he can still see Aunt Jessie and at first they don’t understand because it is a picture of him.  Then he stated well, who do you think took the picture.

This section connects to my life with my grandmother.  She was always tuned in to what was going on and most of the time she knew more than most of us.  She sometimes would pretend that she didn’t know what was going on but deep down she did.  When my grandfather passed away it wasn’t long until she did silly things and she had trouble with memories.  I thought of her when I read this passage because sometimes she would still talk about my grandfather like she still saw him everyday.  It was just a year after my grandfather passed away that my grandmother passed away.  She couldn’t stand to be lonely anymore and I guess you would be lonely if you were married to the same person for 63 years.  That’s a long time.
