relate to the worms and lumps of the spaghetti? Answer:
She related because she feels that her life has been so much like a
bowl of spaghetti. She has had both
lumps and meatballs through out her life.

whole book. Zinny’s
life sure hasn’t been easy and she has had many lumps to over come.
Passage 2
- Page 5 and Paragraph 3
- First two words: Sometimes she, Last
two words: real parents
- The passage is a great example of an
interesting passage.
- The passage is interesting because Zinny has thought a lot about the death of Rose
because she feels she is to blame.
So now she wonders if many she is Rose.
- Why do you think Zinny
would feel this way? Does it make
sense for her to think this way? Why or Why Not? Answer: Aunt Jessie sometimes calls Zinny Rose instead of Zinny. This lead Zinny
to thinking that maybe she really was Rose and Zinny
was the one dead. Zinny feels this way because she still feels
responsible for the death of Rose.
- The passage shows that Zinny is always thinking about Rose. She also is always wondering about the feelings
that Aunt Jessie has about the death.
Even though Aunt Jessie never states them Zinny
feels them.

full on page 22 through the last on 23
- First two words: I shared, Last two
words: laughed and laughed
- This passage is very amusing
- This passage is amusing because Zinny is listening to her jealous sister talk about
all the siblings. They don’t know
that Zinny is still awake.
- Why do you think that Gretchen and May
said the things that they did? How
do you think Zinny felt? Answer:
Gretchen and May were jealous of everything and they thought that Zinny was getting ahead of them for once. I think they were truly jealous of Zinny and the fact that she lived a life totally
different than theirs. Zinny was amused that she was getting under their
skin. She was giving them reasons
to worry.
- This passage adds to the story the fact
that Zinny is on the mind of everyone
around. Even if they do not want to
like her she has their attention all the time.
Passage 4

complete
- First two words: And me, Last two
words: sinking, sinking
- I picked this passage because it tells
of Zinny’s feelings at this moment.
- This passage is a
eye opener into the doom that Zinny feels that she
brings to her family.
- Why do you think Zinny
feels like the agent of doom?
Answer: She feels that she
is responsible for the death of Rose and now the death of her aunt. She feels like she is the master of doom,
and she feels like she has been eliminated too.
- This passage adds to the story because
you can begin to see the struggles that Zinny
faces. You start to think what else
could this girl be involved with that will leave her feeling helpless.
