Section 3
Pages 68-98
This section of
the book really hit home for me. During
May of 1999, in Jacksonville, Florida, my brother and his wife separated and
eventually got a divorce. This was very devastating
to my family because we thought that everything was good between them but it
was not. They had a one year old little
girl at the time as well, which made it all even harder. To this day, things are still hard at times
but we do the best that we can. I try to
spend as much of my time as I can with my niece to make up for the kind of life
she has been through. This connects to
this section because it starts talking about how one of the students in Room
145, parents’ have just gotten divorced and how hard it is for him to get
through what is going on. Cara Landry is
also dealing with going through a divorce between her parents, in which she thought the whole divorce was her fault, but it
ended up not being her fault at all.
