Modifications
It is inevitable that there will be diverse learners in any classroom. When reading Judy Moody there are several ways to modify the instruction to reach their needs. It will be very helpful for ESL students to put the text on tape. Read it very slowly with places to stop for them to catch up if they get lost. Also, this book may be used for fourth or fifth graders that are reading on a lower level. If there are students in the class that have comprehension problems, it may be helpful to decrease the amount of reading per section and ask them some questions along the way to make sure they are understanding it as they go.
