The purpose of this unit is to have students learn about The Civil War and it's effects on slavery.

A slave girl, by the name of Eulinda, will take you on a wonderful and heartfelt journey into slavery and the conditions of The Civil War and it's effects on slavery.  She and the rest of the south will overcome slavery and she will start a new life as a free woman.   She will continue on her freedom journey with the help of Clara Barton, founder of American Red Cross.  Clara eventually helps Eulinda dig deep into her heart and find the real meaning of freedom.
