About the Faculty...
Suzanne Mellow-Irwin, Ed.D
Interim Professor in the area of curriculum planning and leadership studies, Dr. Irwin has been associated with ASU since 1997. Prior to this, Dr. Irwin served as Superintendent of School in Allegheny County, a rural area in northwest N.C. Her many positions include curriculum supervisor, state reading consultant, elementary principal and teacher. She actively serves the community by working as a board member of an educational foundation, fire department, bank, and library. These varied experiences have enabled her to bring a practical, authentic mode of instruction to Leadership and Higher Education classes.
L. Arthur Safer, Ph.D.
A very special congratulations to the Leadership and Educational Studies Department Chair, Dr. Safer, on the arrival of his first grandchild, Sophie Marie on October 1.
