FDN 5320: Telecommunication Technologies in Education

Course Topics

We'll explore many topics this semester related to what we might call 'connected learning.'  These topics will include the technologies that connect us, as well as the pedagogical implications of connecting learners to learners (and learners to content) in new ways.  Finally, we'll try our hand at teaching and learning via the  different telecommunications technologies we explore this semester.

1. Basics of networked computing

2. Introduction to learning environments using telecommunications
   • Types of telecommunications services available
   • Basic terms and procedures

4. Developing telecommunications activities
   • Asynchronous
   • Synchronous
