Activity |
|
Using current research and theory clearly articulate the role computer technology can and should play in K-12 instruction. Be disposed to keep up with the literature and practices and willing to incorporate new ideas into the articulated role. |
Read selected articles and engage in discussion with others on their significance.
Create a bibliography of readings, books and web sites |
|
Develop exemplary model unit and lesson plans that demonstrate the role of computer technology in instruction. |
Create a series of learning activities and environments designed for your courses. These activities should include learning environments designed for: knowledge, literacy, problem-solving, and collaboration. Included in each should be assessment processes appropriate for each design. These should require students to engage each of the major tools (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, telecommunications and hypermedia.) |
|
Practice interpersonal skills that can be effective in working with teachers and administrators as they explore the use of new technologies in the curriculum. Be disposed toward continually seeking to improve skills in developing technology integration for instructional and management. |
Conduct interviews with public school teachers and leaders in order to complete a needs assessment for course and training program development mandated by the NC State Board of Education. This may include visiting several school sites. |
|
Identify appropriate strategies that can be used to help teachers incorporate computer technology into their classroom activities. Be disposed toward working with others to explore new strategies. |
Identify and plan to visit at least one model educational site that uses technology as a cornerstone for its instructional program. What makes this site unique?
Work with others to brainstorm ideas on how each of the types of Mindtools can be used in learning settings. |
|
Work effectively with teachers in supporting the integration of computer technology into the curriculum. |
Explore the strategic planning process and develop a plan to integrate technology into instruction in a school or district. Include your vision statement and model learning environments you have designed. |
|
Be capable of evaluating the results of integrating computer technology into the curriculum. |
Complete assessment models to evaluate learning activities and strategic plans. |
