4. This passage is a descriptive passage because it describes Cody’s shoes. It tells how they are white with the purple stripes on the sides. “Cody bent down to tie his brand-new shoes. They were clean and white with two colors of purple stripes on the side.” The passage uses descriptive words like clean, white and purple to tell about the shoes.
5. Think of a good question about the passage. Write it down along with the answer. What does Cody’s shoes look like? Compare Cody’s shoes to your own shoes. How are they alike and how are they different? My shoes are blue and yellow, not white. My shoes are not clean they are really dirty. My shoes don’t have stripes like Cody’s shoes, but they are colorful.
