Modifications
Although students are separated into groups by reading level, some students may still struggle with the material. For these students I suggest working with them in small groups so that they can read along with each other. It would also help to send the book home with them the night before in order for them to get a head start on the reading. This can also be done for students to catch up, but it would help if they already have a grasp for the section prior to the day they read it.
Modifications can also be made by allowing students more time to read and reducing the amount of work they'll be doing with their individual job.
In the lower level reading group the teacher will read to the students while the students follow along in their own books and read what they can.
