Bronack, Steve

Dr. Bronack is Associate Professor, Instructional Technology at Appalachian State University and co-creator of AET Zone, an innovative virtual world for learning.  AET Zone, created in 2001, has nearly 1,700 citizens - mostly practicing educators - from around the world and was recently recognized with a Campus Technology Innovators Award.   He also serves as the co-chair of the Technology Committee of the Carolinas Virtual World Consortium.

Cheney, Amy
Assistant Professor, Instructional Technology

Dr. Cheney is an assistant professor in the instructional technology program at Appalachian State University in the AET Zone. Prior to joining the faculty, she worked in K-12 for more than thirteen years in teaching and CTO capacities for two school districts in North Carolina. She holds B.A. and M.Ed. degrees from Wake Forest University, and an Ed.D. from Appalachian State.

Riedl, Dick
Professor, Instructional Technology

Dr. Riedl is professor of education at Appalachian State University. He has been part of the team that developed the instructional technology program and for moving the program into AET Zone. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Carolinas Virtual World Consortium. He first began working with distance education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Tashner, John
Professor, Instructional Technology

Dr. Tashner is professor of education at Appalachian State University.  He has been part of the team that developed the instructional technology program and currently serves as program coordinator and the co-chair of the Academics and Research Committee of the Carolinas Virtual World Consortium.  He is also a co-creator of AET Zone.
